Indians get swept by Fox Motors

Sunday saw Fox Motors complete the sweep of the Indians scoring in the first period then added three consecutive power play goals in the second and third periods to go ahead 4-0.  Late the third Fox added their fifth goal for the 5-0 win as the Indians couldn't get anything past the Fox netminder.  Nathan Maguire was in the net for the Indians.

The Indians will regroup this week during practive and head to Chicago Illinios Friday to play Lake Forrest Prep Academy Friday Night and Saturday morning, then head to Green Bay Wisconsin for a Saturday night and Sunday morning game against the Green Bay Bobcats.

Indians drop a heartbreaker 1-0 against Fox Motors

In the first game of the MAHA league series against Fox Motors out of the Grand Rapids, both teams played even until late in the third period when the Fox player found a rebound to beat the Indians netminder with 2:14 left in regulation to take the lead and the eventual 1-0 win.  Nathan Maguire played outstanding in the net for the Indians turning away 33 of 34 shots sent his way in a loosing effort.  

Both team will return to the Taffy Abel arena Sunday morning at 10am for the second game of the weekend series.  The game will be streamed on youtube at Soo Indians Midget AAA.

Soo Indians Alumni Brenden MacLaren named captain of the Ferris State Bulldogs

Soo Indians Alumni Brenden MacLaren was recently named Captian of the 2023-24 Ferris State Bulldogs Hockey Club.  Brenden spent three season with the Indians competing in 173 games and amassing 141 points.  The entire Indians staff wish Brenden and the Bulldogs team best of luck in the upcoming season.

Indians battle to a win over St. Francis Prep Red Raiders

The final game of the Tier1 Federation Showcase matched the Indians against the St. Francis Prep Red Raiders from Buffalo New York.  Both teams battled hard through the first two periods but couldn't manage to score sending then into the third period tied 0-0.  In the third Connor Carlson found the net on a rebound, assisted by Dominic Cicco and Jarret Crimin for the lead.  Less than two minutes later the Red Raiders capitalized on a power play to even things up at 1, then with 4 minutes remaining Carson Unger chipped the puck past the Red Raiders defenseman to Evan Hoglund who beat their netminder on a shot to put the Indians back in the lead and with 5 seconds remaining Dominic Cicco scored on the open net from Deven Jones-McDonald to secure the win for Indians.  Isiah Anderson turned away 30 of 31 shots sent his way for the win in net.

Indians will return home next weekend to play Fox Motors in MAHA league action Saturday 5pm and Sunday 10am, both games are at the Taffy Abel Arena.

Indians fall to the Rose City Pats

Sunday saw the Indians taking on the Rose City Pat's from Pasadena CA,  Both team opened the first period with a fast paced up and down the ice with neither teams scoring.  In the second the Pat's capitized on two goals in a short period to go up 2-0 at the end of the second period.  The third period saw Rose City add one more goal to secure a 3-0 win, Nathan Maguire was in the net for the Indians in a loosing effort.

The Indians will take on the St. Francis Red Raiders tomorrow morning at 10am in the morning at the Pittsburg Ice Arena.  All games are streamed on LiveBarn.
