Indians are State Championship bound with a 5-4 overtime win over the Lansing Capitals

In a Closely fought game between the Indians and the Lansing Capitals Landon Hubbard scored with 19 seconds remaining in the first overtime to advance to the Michigan Amatuer Hockey Championships the first week of the March.  The Capitals jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game but Evan Augustine went on a scoring terror in the first period scoring at the 14:17 mark from Mike Miller and Kristain Jackson, then again at the 5:59 mark from Mike Miller and Jackson again.  He was finished there and scored his natural hatrick at the 4:06 mark from Triston Therit and Jackson to give the team a 3-1 lead, Lansing wasn't done yet and came roaring back to tie the game in second period.  Augustine collected his fourth goal of the game assisted by Theriot and the teams went to the dressing room with the Indians up 4-3.  Early in the third period Lansing evened the score and the game ended tied at the end of regulation and the game went to a 10 minute overtime.  Both teams had excellent chances in an up and down fast paced action however Landon Hubbard took a pass from Brendan MacLaren and Ethan St.Germain and cut in over the blue line and put a shot over the Capitals goaltender for the overtime winner.  The Indians advance to the State Championship for the second year in a row.

The Indians play at home next weekend against the Madison Capitals at 6pm at the Taffey Abel arena and again at 11am Sunday at the Pullar Staduim.
