Indians fall against Compuware 2-1 on Saturday and a Shoot out on Sunday

In a all important game for the Indians to move to the MAHA state championships the Indians came out playing hard and determined to leave everything on the ice.  On the second shift of the game Nolan Slachetka stole the puck of the Compuware defender and made no mistake putting it over the netminders right should to the early lead.  Both teams continue the fast pace trading opportunities to score however both netminders denied them until the 3:22 mark of the third period when Compuware broke in on the net and tipped the puck in to tie the score at 1-1.  Due to the points needed to advance in the MAHA standings the Indians were forced to the pull their goaltender for the out right win in regulation and swarmed Compuwares net and rattled one of the post with time winding down and as luck would have it the puck ended up on the opposing teams stick and with 27 seconds remaining they scored in the empty net for the 2-1 win.  Aidan Curry played outstanding in the net for the Indians.

Sundays rematch started much different as Compuware jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes before the Indians woke up, settled down and went to work.  Compuware added to their lead to make it 3-0 before Justin Moyle launched a booming slapshot past the Compuware netminder to open the Indians scoring, assisted by Hayden Clark and Kyle Lake.  Compuware again opened up a three goal lead early in the third, but the Indians wouldn't quit and with 13:41 mounted their comeback, first Nolan Slachetka got his second of the weekend from Jeff Rahilly and Kyle Lake, then Tiger Weber broke in on the goalie all alone on a pass from Justin Hendrickson scoring to get within one and then Spencer DenBeste won a battle for the puck in front of their net to tie the game, assist went to Slachetka and Zak Lasley.  The remained of regulation went back and forth with neither team scoring.  The game wasn't decided in the four on four overtime and it went to a shootout to be decided.  In the first three shooters Kalvin Hillock traded goals with the Compuware player, however on the fourth shooter the Compuware scored to take the win.  Jordan Lawday played outstanding in net for the Indians.

The Indians return home this coming weekend to take on the Minnesota Revolution on Friday 3pm, Saturday 3pm and Sunday morning at 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena.
