Indians split the weekend series with Lake Forest Prep Academy

This weekend the Indians faced off against the Lake Forest Prep Academy from Chicago Illinois.  Saturdays game saw the both teams battle back and forth throughout the fist period with neither team lighting the lamp to score, in the second period LFA capitalized on a penalty shot they were awarded to get the 1-0 lead.  Late in second LFA added to their lead which they carried into the third period and with the Indians pressing, the net empty for the extra attacker they scored with 12 seconds remaining to secure the win.  Logan Raffaele stopped 28 shots in the losing effort.

Sunday morning the rematch started much the same with each team having scoring chances in the first period, but neither could capitalize.  The second period the Indians opened when Logan Millhausen scored from Chase Tallaire and Jaden Martina, then LFA answered right back to make it a 1-1 game and less than 1 minute later scored for a 2-1 lead.  Jack Swan finally found a rebound and made no mistake burying it to the tie the game, assists going to Grant Wickham and Alex Gordon, sending both teams into the dressing room knotted at 2 a piece at the end of two periods.  Midway through the third period Seth Francois scored, assisted by Kevin Smith and Kevin Bostwick, which turned out to be the game winner and with 14 seconds remaining Cain Grosbeck won a battle for the puck on the boards and walked in on the empty net to close out the game.  Gabe Rosek turned away 29 shots to take the win in net for the Indians.

The Indians will be back on the road next weekend to Detroit for three MAHA Tier 1 league games against Compuware and Honeybaked.
