Indians open the weekend with a 7-1 win over the Tri State Spartans

The Indians opened their three game series against the Tri State Spartans coming out victorious 7-1.  The Indians opened the scoring in the first period when Dylan Bott scored on a shot, set up by Cain Grosbeck, then Jaden Martin tipped a shot by Rob Landis past the Spartan netminder, Chase Tallaire also assisted on the goal. Tallaire added a goal of his own late in the period from Logan Millhausen and Nick Castillo to give the Indians a 3-0 lead through one period.  In the second Grosbeck took a long pass from Landis to spring him in on the net for the fourth goal and Millhausen scored on a power play after being set up by Seth Francois and Kevin Bostwick.  The Spartans got on the board in the third period, however the Indians fought back when Tallaire stole the puck from Spartan defenseman to go in alone and beat the netminder for the sixth goal.  Castillo scored late in the third to finish out the scoring from Grant Wickham and Max Povorozniouk for the 7-1 win.  Gabe Rosek was between the pipes for the win.

The second game of the series will be played 530 pm tonight at the Taffy Abel Arena on the Campus of LSSU.
