The Indians traveled to Detroit this past weekend to participate in the Motor City Cup.  The first game of the season pitted them against the Elite Brigade from Detroit and the Elite team jumped out to an early lead in the first period before Cody Colegrove scored in the second period to tie the game on assists from Warner Young and Drayke Micolo.  Nathan Brown made an end to end rush to put the Indians up by one goal, then Colton Hayes scored from Justin Moyle and Spencer Samppala for the insurance marker.  Elite Brigade got back within one but the Indians finished out the game to take the 3-2 win.  Alex Rairigh took the win in the net for the Indians.
The second game of the day was against Orchard Lake United and they got out two goal lead in the first period. Before Alex Gordon found the puck in front of the United net and buried it, assisted by Bren Lyons and Warner Young.  That was all the tribe could muster and fell 3-1.  Jeb Barrett was in the net for the Indians in a loosing effort.
Saturday mornings early game had the Indians playing the Indiana Prospects and the boys came out quick scoring all five goals in the first period.  Jeff Rahilly started the scoring from Justin Moyle and Michael Chapman, then Jason Kasper beat the goalie from Spencer Samppala and Chapman.  Chapman then added a goal of his own on a pass from Nathan Brown, Colton Hayes got on the board for the fourth goal from Moyle and Samppala.  Hudson Troyes rounded out the scoring in the first period on assists from Bren Lyons and Alex Gordon.  Neither team scored in the remaining period and the Indians took the 5-0 win moving them on to face Little Caesars in the quarterfinal game.  Alex Rairigh stopped all the shots sent his way to preserve the win and earn the shutout.
The Saturday night game turned out to be a great match both fast and physical. Little Caesar jumped out to two goal lead in the first period, then added an empty net goal for the win.  Alex Rairigh was in the net for the Indians.
