Indians complete the sweep over the electricians 6-2

Cole Lussier started the scoring for the Indians at the 2:45 mark of the first putting home a rebound on a shot from the point by TJ Zajac. Casey Gilling scored the second of the period 30 seconds on a pass from Frankie Pucci. Lussier scored his second goal of the game with 40 seconds remaining in the period assists going to Gilling and Kyle Yates. Marquette fought back with two goals to get within one before Mike Miller scored assisted by Brenden MacLaren and TJ Zajac. In the third period Pucci scored unassisted, Landon Hubbard scored the sixth goal assist going to Kyle Yates. Brandon Gordon took the win in net.

The Indians go on break with a record of 19-17-0-2. Their next action will be in Grand Rapids on January 4th and 5th against the Michigan Nationals.

The staff and players would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years and look forward to the second half of the year.


Indians defeat the Electricians 10-0

The Indians took charge of the game right from the first shift and at the 1:52 Trevor Jestadt broke the ice with assists going to Torrin Grange and Nick Cammarata. The scoring continued at the 8:44 mark Casey Gilling scored on a pass from Frankie Pucci, 13:29 Cammarata scored from Pucci and Gilling, 13:57 Grange scored on assists to Jestadt and Cammarata, 15:03 Brenden MacLaren added to the lead on a pass from Kyle Yates. The final goal of the period was scored at the 16:07 mark when Ethan St.Germain put a shot in off the post from Trevor Temple and Andrew Barbeau and the period ended 6-0. In the second period the Indians continued the scoring at 6:12 Mike Miller scored from Landon Hubbard and MacLaren, 8:48 Jestadt scored his second goal of the night from Grange and Jared Sauve, 12:29 Cole Lussier scored from Gilling and Pucci. The final goal of the game came at the 10:45 mark of the third period when Cade Nolan buried a rebound past the Elrectro's goaltender, assists going to Lussier and Pucci. Sauve took the win and shutout in net for the Indians.

The second game of the weekend series will be at 10am on Saturday morning at the Taffy Abel Arena.


Indians drop Belle Tire Selects 3-1

In the final game of the Flint Showcase the Indians put continuous pressure on the Belle Tire goaltender and at the :42 second mark of the first period Ethan St.Germain lit the lamp with assist going to Frankie Pucci and Cole Lussier. In the second period they continued the pressure and at 2:35 mark Lussier found the net with the assist going to Casey Gilling. Trevor Temple followed up with a tip pasted their goaltender on a shot by TJ Zajac. Belle Tire found the net on a powerplay to make the score 3-1. From that point Brandon Gordon shut the door to take the win in net.

The Indians finished the weekend with three wins and one lose. Coach Carricato felt that we should of been 4-0 but let up in one game, we need to compete consistently at the top level every day. The Indians record at this point is 17-17-0-2.

The next action is against the Marquette Electricians on 12/20/13 Friday 7pm at the Taffey Abel arena and again 10am Saturday morning.


Indians win 4-1 over the Naperville sabres

In the second game of the day the Indians started strong and at the 14:01 mark of the first period Frankie Pucci took a pass from Casey Gilling to start the scoring. Naperville lit the lamp at the end of the first period to tie the game. From that point on the Indians took control and scored three unanswered goals. Pucci scored his second of the night from Lussier and forty seconds later Nick Cammarata scored on a rebound with assists going to Trevor Jestadt and Mike Miller. Lussier scored the fourth goal of the game from Pucci and Gilling. Jared Sauve shut the door in net and the Indians cruised to a 4-1 win.

Next game is at 11 am Sunday against the Belle Tire Selects.


Indians drop a heartbreaker 5-4 to the Indiana ice

In a game that saw up and down action the Indians came out on the short end of the score. On the first shift of the game Cole Lussier tipped a shot from Andrew Barbeau at the :37 second mark to go up 1-0, the second assist going to Casey Gilling. Indiana answered back with shorthanded goal to tie the game then scored two more in the first period. In the second period Frankie Pucci found the back of the net with assists going to Trevor Jestadt and Ethan St.Germain to get within one goal. Both teams battled in the third period until Lussier scored his second of the game assisted by Pucci and Gilling to tie the game up. Indiana scored late in the third to go up 4-3. At the three minute mark Pucci won the draw and Lussier fed Gilling who put the puck over the goaltenders shoulder to knot the score at 4-4. With seven seconds remaining Indiana scored their 5th goal to take the win. Brandon Gordon took the lose in net.
