Indians top the Oakland Grizzlies 2-1 in a shoot out

On the second game on the road the Indians and Grizzlies played 47 minutes of back and forth hockey however neither team could finish and score the go ahead goal.  At the 4 minute mark of the third period Oakland finally broke the ice to go up 1-0, but with 3 minutes remaining Oakland took a penalty and Brenden MacLaren capitalized taking a puck of the half wall and put a shot over the Oakland goalies shoulder to tie the game up at 1 a piece.  Neither team could score in regulation and the Indians went to overtime for the second night in a row, however this time the overtime could not produce a winner and therefore it would be decided in a shoot out.  In the three man shootout Nick Skaluba was the only player to thread the needle for either team for the Indians win.  Will Hartwick took the win in the pipes stopping all three shooters for the win.
The Indians now travel to Lansing to take on Meijer AAA at 10am tomorrow.

Victory Honda steals one from the Indians 5-4 in overtime

The Indians battled hard with Honda through the first period until they found an opening and took a 1-0 lead at the 5:08 mark.  In the second period Honda again managed to score one more goal, however the Indians got on the board when Zach Ahola took and nice pass from Brendan Miller to go in on a Breakaway and score to get within one goal at the end of two period, Drew Goupille had the other assist on the goal.  Victory Honda came out and popped two goals early in the third period to go up 4-1 with 10 minutes remaining in the period, however the Indians were not going to go away and mounted a come back.  Sasha Miniouchine found a lose puck and put it away from Dylan Cook and Jake Smith, then Spencer DenBeste found the net from Brenden MacLaren and Kalvin Hillock to get within one goal.  With 4 minutes remaining Miniouchine scored in his second of the game on a nice pass from Zak Lasley and game was all tied up.  Neither team could get the winner in regulation and the game went to overtime.

In the overtime Victory Honda took a penatly to put the Indians on the power play and with 3 minutes gone Brenden MacLaren put the puck past their netminder on what everyone thought was the winning goal, however after a meeting between the referees and linesman the goal was overturned claiming the net was off.  Then as fate would have it Honda get an odd man rush and scored with with 1:34 remaining for the win.  Will Hartwick played outstanding in net in a losing effort.

The Indians now with face off against the Oakland Grizzlies tomorrow at 230 pm

Indians rebound and top Green Bay 2-1

Sunday morning the Indians started with some jump in their step and hounded the Gambler netminder in the first period however neither team was able to capitalize for a goal.  In the second period Spencer DenBeste won an offensive faceoff and utimately found a rebound for the Indians first goal with an assist going to Dylan Cook.  Jake Smith took a breakout pass from Sasha Miniouchine midway through the second period and put a shot between the Gambler goaltenders legs to put the Indians up by two.  Both teams played even through the remainder of the period and the third until late in the third when gamblers got an odd man rush and scored to get within one goal.  The Indians weathered the storm to preserved the 2-1 win.  Shaun Brown was in the net for the win.
The Indians now travel to Detriot next weekend to take on Victory Honda, Oakland Grizzlies, and Meijer AAA.

Indians fall to Green Bay 4-2

Green Bay opened the scoring early in the game putting two goals on the board in the first period and one in the second to take a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after two periods.  The Indians mounted a comeback in the third period on a goal from Brendan Miller assisted by Nick Skaluba and Justin Hendrickson, then Sasha Miniouchine scored from Spencer DenBeste and Zak Lasley to get within one of the Gamblers.  With the goalie pulled the Gamblers took advantage and scored on the empty net to take a 4-2 lead and the win.  Will Hartwick was in net for the Indians.
Both teams will face off again tomorrow 10am at the Pullar Staduim.

Little Caesars topped the Indians 5-1

In a penalty filled game Little Caesars came out on top winning 5-1 to sweep the Indians this weekend.  Caesars scored to goals in the first period, in the second the Indians got on the score board when Brenden MacLaren threw a backhand over their goalies shoulder, with assists going to Brendan Miller and Anthony Harris.  Caesars added another in the second for 3-1 lead through two periods and then added two more in the third to solidfy the 5-1 win.  Shaun Brown was in net for the Indians.
The Indians return to action next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at the Pullar Stadium when they take on the Green Bay Gamblers at 6pm and 10am respectively.
