Indians fall in two close games over the weekend

This weekend the Indians would battle with Meijer AAA in MAHA Tier 1 action, on Saturday both teams traded opportunities in the first period, but neither team could capitalize.  In the second Meijer took advantage of a turnover to the take the lead, the Indians tried to force the play the remainder of the game, however with the goalie out for the third period for the extra attacker the puck bounced out to the Meier player for an empty net goal and secured the win.  Gabe Roses played outstanding for the Indians allowing one goal on 30 shots.
Sundays game was much the same through the first half of the game until Luke Parry beat the defenseman wide and put a backhand shot past the Meijer netminder for the 1-0 lead.  The Indians held the lead until late in the third period when Meijer scored on the power play with 4:16 remaining to even the score.  Through the remainder of the game and 5 minutes of 4 on 4 overtime the teams traded chances with no winner, therefore the game would be determined in a shoot out.  In the shoot out Meijer took advantage scoring 1 and the Indians were shut out giving the win to Meijer.  Dakota Meyer played excellent stopping 31 of 32 shots faced.
The Indians return to action next weekend at 3pm Saturday and 10am Sunday at the Taffy Abel arena when the take on Little Caesars.
