Oakland takes two from the Indians on the weekend

The Oakland Grizzlies came to town with intentions of getting two wins and accomplished what they wanted.  Saturday they started early and scored six goals to take a 6-0 win as the Indians could seem to get anything to go their way in that game.  Alex Rairigh stopped 51 shots in a loosing effort for the Indians.

On Sunday, Oakland again jumped out to an early lead, then lead 5-0 at the end of the second period.  In the third the Indians finally came alive and mounted several good scoring chances and Nathan Brown made an end to end rush ending with him putting the shot over the goalies shoulder to break the ice for the Indians.  Finally scored ended 5-1.  Jeb Barrett took the loose in net.

The Indians hope to get back on the winning ways next weekend as the travel to Detroit for the Compuware/Honeybaked Tournament Friday through Sunday.

Indians are looking for one forward

The Indians mission statement is to move players to a higher level for them to compete and advance, with the movement up to the NAHL of Nick Bink it has opened a spot to be filled on our roster.  I you are interested in playing at the AAA level and feel you can fill this spot contact Rick Corbiere at 906 322 2070 or Mike Kaunisto at 906 440 0157.

Bink gets called up to the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL

Nicholas Bink got the early call up to the Minnesota Wilderness after this weekend and will be heading to Cloquet Minnesota to jump to the next level and compete in the North American Hockey League.  The Indians staff want to wish Nick the best of luck to Nick in pursuing his dreams and know that he will be an asset to the Wilderness.

Victory Honda sweeps the Indians in MAHA play

Saturday and Sunday saw the Indian continue their weekend road trip in Canton against Victory Honda.  Saturdays game saw Honda jump out to an early 4 goal lead in the first period and never look back as they scored three more in the last two periods for the 7-0 win.  Jeb Barrett was in net for the Indians.  On Sunday Honda again jumped out to an early lead before the Indians finally started to generate some scoring chances and on the power play Jeff Rahilly finally broke the ice scoring on a rebound, with assist going to Nathan Brown. In the third period the Indians fought back within two on goals by Colton Hayes and Nick Bink.  First Hayes found himself in the slot on good passing from Bink and Michael Chapman, then Hudson Troyes feed Bink up the middle for a breakaway scoring the third Indian goal of the game.  The Indians forced the issue by couldn't find another goal and with 30 seconds remaining Honda was able to score on an open net to lock in the win for them.  Alex Rairigh was in the net for the Indians.
Next action will be at home in the Taffy Abel Arena against the Oakland Grizzlies for the home opener for the Indians 630pm Saturday night 10am Sunday morning

Belle Tire tops the Indians 4-0

In the first game of a three game weekend the Indians squared off against Belle Tire at the Taylor Sportsplex.  In the first period the Indians had opportunities bud couldn't capitalize and Belle Tire made the best of their chances early and took a two goal lead in the first period.  Early in the second period they added another to take a 3-0 lead.  Jeb Barrett came on and closed the door until late in the third period when they added the fourth and final goal of the game.  Alex Rairigh took the loose in the net for the Indians.

 

The Indians take on Victory Honda 5pm tomorrow at the Arctic Edge Arena
