Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 08:39PM Tryouts for the Soo Indians AAA will begin on Friday June 22 at the Taffey Abel Arena in Sault Ste. Marie. Registration will start at 530 pm, players should bring their USA hockey registration and a completed consent to treat form, which can be found at the USA Hockey website. Player will get on the ice from 7 pm to 830 pm for skills, Saturday morning June 23 rd will start with a 10 am game, then again at 4 pm for the second game of the day. Sunday June 24th the game will begin at 9 am, All players will have an exit interview with the coaches. Players selected for the team will be expected to put down a $500 deposit to secure their spot on the team for the upcoming season.

SOO INDIANS MIDGET AAA HOCKEY CLUB TO HOST TRYOUTS JUNE 22-24, 2018 AT LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY’S TAFFY ABEL ARENA
SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. – The Soo Indians Midget AAA Hockey club released the tryout dates for the 2018-19 hockey season. Tryouts are slated for June 22-24, 2018 in the Taffy Abel Arena at Lake Superior State University.
Interested players, born between 2000-2003, are encouraged to attend tryouts. The cost to tryout is $125 per player and covers the price of one practice and three games.
The Soo Indians Midget AAA Hockey Club is the only Tier-1 hockey club north of Lansing, Mich. The club plays a 55-60 game season from September through February. During the 2018-19 season, players will have an opportunity to play in six showcases around the Midwest.

Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 09:41AM Jeff Rahilly the 2017-18 Assistant Captain of the Soo Indians has signed to play with the Davenport University Panthers, member of the Great Lakes Collegiate Athelitic Conference. Jeff in the past two seasons has been an impact player both on and off the ice as a team leader. In 52 games this season Jeff scored 13 goals and 17 assist for the 30 points, along with all this Jeff continued to play football at Newberry High school puttings countless hours on the road to be at both football and hockey games. During all of this Jeff continued to accel academically in the classroom maintaining a 3.9 grade point average out a of possible 4.0, he will enter Davenport on a full academic scholarship to pursue a degree in Chiropratic. The Soo Indians staff wish Jeff all the best. Davenport is getting a great young man.

Former Soo Indian Brandon Gordon has committed to play his college hockey for the University of Wilkes. In Gordons 2014-2015 season he compiled a record of 19 wins 10 loses and 2 ties will a goals against of 2.1 and 91% save percentage. Brandon went on to be the back stop of the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL setting records for the most games ever played by a goalie in their organization along with the most shut outs of any goalie. Brandon has great character and work ethic which will lead him to be an impact player both on and off the ice for Wilkes. The Soo Indians organization wishes him the best of luck on his new team.
