Indians sweep Fox Motors in MAHA action

Saturday afternoon the Indians took on Fox Motors at the Pullar Staduim in MAHA action.  Fox opened the scoring midway through the first period for the early lead, however Sabre Koleber found a loose puck in front of Fox's net to even things up at 1, Luke Jimenez had the assist on the goal.  Less than a minute later Brayden Grange banged home a rebound on the power play from Caden McDonald for the go ahead goal.  In the third Zach Sweitzer scored on a nice pass from McDonald on the power for the 2 goal lead and 3 minutes later Koleber scored his second of the night from Jack Jimenez.  Cam Labadie shut the door to preserve the 4-1 win in net.

Sunday morning in the rematch Evan Hoglund opened the scoring for the Indians from Zach Sweitzer, but Fox fought back to even the score at the end of the first period.  Drew Dellies scored on a power play from Brayden Grange and Gabe Fisher to regain the lead, then Hoglund added his second of the game from Grange to go up 2 heading into the third period.  The third period saw Fox Motors get back within one goal, however Caden McDonald beat the Fox netminder from Grange in what turned out to be the game winning goal as Fox scored late in the third period for a final score of 4-3 Indians.  Justin Bamberger turned away 25 shots to earn the win in net.

The Indians will now be off for a weekend before travelling back to Detroit to play Belle Tire on Friday night and Compuware on Saturday and Sunday.

Indians go 1 and 2 on the weekend in Detroit

Last Friday the Indians headed to Detroit for 3 league games, two against Victory Honday and 1 facing Compuware.  Friday night Victory Honda opened up in the first period showing why they are the #10 ranked team in the country scoring two goals in the first and 4 more in the second.  In the third Zach Sweitzer got the Indians on board scoring from Brayden Grange, from that point on both teams played even the remainder of the game for a 6-1 final.  Justin Bamberger was in net for the Indians.

Saturday in the rematch it was Honda scoring first again in the first, then neither team could score in the second sending the game into the third with a 1-0 score.  In the third Victory Honda found the net midway through the period for a 3 goal lead before Evan Hoglund scored from Jarret Crimin and Treyce Moran.  After that Honda scored on an empty net for a final score of 4-1.  Cam Labadie played strong in net for the Indians in a loosing effort.

Sunday, the final game of the weekend matched the Indians up with the Compuware Ambassadors.  Neither team got on the score sheet through the first half of the game, then Dominic Cicco beat their netminder from Treyce Moran to give the lead and two minutes later Sabre Koleber found the net on rebound from Luke Jimenez to the give the Indians a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.  Compuware fought back in the third to even the score at 2 as regulation time expired.  In the 5 minute 4 on 4 OT the game would still not be decided sending it to a shoot out.  In the shoot out it was until the last of the third round that Sabre Koleber beat the Ambassadors goaltender on a backhand giving the Indians the 3-2 win.

Next action for the Indians will this upcoming weekend as they take on Fox Motors at home.  Saturday 430 at the Pullar Staduim and 10am Sunday at the Taffy Abel Arena.

Indians battle LFA in two tough games

Saturday afternoon opened a two game series with Lake Forrest Prep academy, LFA got on the board late in first period, but with 12 seconds remaining in the period Caden McDonald answered back scoring after being set up by Zach Sweitzer and Jack Jimenez to even things up at 1.  For the final two periods neither team could break the tie and the final score ended 1-1.  Justin Bamberger was in net for the Indians for the tie.

Sunday in the rematch LFA scored three unanswered goals in the first two periods before Owen Hendrikson put one behind their netminder.  The Indians put 30 shots on net but could only manage the one goal and with the net empty LFA scored to secure a 4-1 win.  Cam Labadie had the duties in net for the Indians.

The Indians now travel to Detroit to take on Victory Honda Friday night and Saturday, with their final game of the weekend against Compuware on Sunday morning.

Biggby takes two from the Indians

Opening the second half of the season the Indians traveled to Lansing Michigan to face Biggby Coffee for two games.  Saturday Biggby scored two goals in each period for the 6-1 win with the only offense for the only goal for the Indians being when Lucca Weinkauf stole the puck and went in on a breakaway beating their netminder.  Cam Labadie was in net for the Indianss

Sunday Biggby again got on the board first scoring three before Zach Sweitzer scored on a pass from Caden McDonald, then Gabe Fisher scored on a shot from the point to close the gap to one goal.  Biggby answered back adding to their lead before Ethan Chambers scored from Sweitzer for the Indians third goal, however it wasn't enough for final score on 7-3.  Justin Bamberger had duties in net.

Indians will regroup and return home to take on Lake Forrest Prep Academy  at 3pm on Saturday Pullar Staduim and Sunday 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena.

Indians split with A21 

Thursday night the Indians took on A21 Prep Academy from Windsor Ontario.  Zach Sweitzer scored unassisted in the first period for 1-0 going into the second period, in the second the Indians found their scoring touch putting 4 goals behind the A21 netminder.  First Kyle Stevens scored on a nice pass from Drew Dellies and Tryce Moran, then Dellies added one from Stevens and Moran.  Owen Hendrikson continued the scoring from Luke Jimenez and Pierson Zittel, finally Evan Hogland scored from Ethan Chambers to put them up 5-0.  A21 scored late in the period, but in the third period Stevens scored his second of the game from Dellies and Luke Jimenez.  Sweitzer put his second of the game behind the goalies from Hendrikson and Caden McDonald, Luke Jimenez scored the final goal for the Indians short handed from Brayden Grange.  A21 scored one goal in the third for a final score of 8-2, Cam Labadie took the win in the net.

Friday afternoon in the rematch neither team scored in the first period and then A21 scored two in the second period to go into the third period 2-0.  In the third Owen Hendrikson got the Indians within one set up by Treyce Moran, however A21 answered back to regain the 2 goal lead.  The Indians didn't stop as Dominick Cicco scored with 2 second remaining to give A21 the win 3-2.  Justin Bamberger was in net for the Indians.

The Indians are now off for the Christmas break and wish everyone Happy Holidays.
